“Vaccinate Before you Graduate”
So, what does my student need?
1. Tdap – Tetanus, Diphtheria, Acellular Pertussis (also known as “Whooping Cough”) – REQUIRED of every Colorado student in 6th through 12th grade.
2. MCV4 – Meningococcal – recommended for all 11 – 18 year olds. (Required by many colleges). This vaccine can prevent a rare but often fatal bacterial infection.
3. HPV – Human Papilloma Virus – recommended for both males and femails ages 9 through 26. This vaccine can help to prevent both cervical cancer and genital warts caused by HPV.
If you need more information about any of these vaccinations, or what vaccinations your student has received, please contact Kerri Elam, School Nurse, at 970.368.1114.
The Summit Community Care Clinic operates School Based Health Centers (SBHC) at school district sites. Students can see a health provider for physical or mental health needs at any of the SBHC locations. To make an appointment call 970-368-1134.
