Become a Member/Make a Donation

Who can be a Member?:

Membership is open to all Parents, Teachers, Staff, Students and Community Members who wish to make a positive difference at Summit High School and our surrounding communities.

Become a Member:

SHS PTSO does not collect dues to be a member.  All you need to do is notify the PTSO either during online registration or via email (summithighptso@gmail.com) to be added to our member email list.  You are also not required to attend meetings but we happily encourage members to be as active as they can be. All members may hold an office, make motions, debate and cast one vote in PTSO affairs.  We do encourage our SHS families to participate in our Virtual Fundraiser. This is our largest fundraiser of the year and covers most of our budget. The suggested donation is $50 per student/family and $20 per staff/family.  This allows us to provide enhancements for both our students and staff; any donation larger or smaller is greatly appreciated.

SHS PTSO works to provide:

-Monthly Meetings and Communication via email to all members as well as reminders/updates via Facebook and Twitter.

-Fall Parent/Teacher Coffee Meet and Greet

-Volunteer Support for SHS at:  Freshman Jump Start, Back to School Night, College Night, Parent/Teacher Conferences, Airband, Homecoming, Cocoa in the Commons, Scholarship Night Reception, After Prom and other events as needed.

-Financial Support by:  Offering scholarships to graduating senior attending post secondary education institutions, supporting faculty with continuing education and partnering with the Education Foundation of the Summit to provide teacher classroom grants.

Easy Fundraiser Opportunities

Overview:

This school year, the SHS PTSO will be focusing on downsizing the number of fundraisers during the school year and working to hold fundraisers with a larger impact.  Those transferring from SMS will remember their Virtual Fundraiser at the beginning of the year. We are implementing this within Summit High School as well. We encourage you to participate and help us achieve our goals.  We will also be holding our Silent Auction in the spring.

SHS PTSO Virtual Fundraiser:

Our Virtual Fundraiser will be our biggest fundraiser of the year.  "It takes a village to raise a child", and we are all part of that village.  We encourage all of our SHS community to participate in this fundraiser. The suggested donation is $50 per student/family and $20 per staff/family.  By both our student and staff families participating together we can have a larger impact to provide enhancements for both our students and staff.

Donations are accepted via Cash, Check, and PayPal.  They can be accepted at PTSO events/meetings or dropped in the office in an envelope labeled "SHS PTSO Virtual Fundraiser".  Please make checks payable to SHS PTSO.

If using PayPal- summithighptso@gmail.com- Please be sure to reference your name and Virtual Fundraiser
